The meeting between AC Ajaccio and FC Nantes, this Sunday (3 p.m.) during the 22nd day of Ligue 1, does not come under the best auspices. On Saturday evening, clashes took place between supporters of the two teams, resulting in three minor injuries. An investigation was opened “violence in meetings” after these incidents which took place in the city center of the prefecture of Corse-du-Sud.
According to the Ajaccio prosecutor’s office, the sixty or so Nantes supporters who have come to the island will be supervised by the police on the way to the stadium and during the match, in order to avoid new problems.
In a press release Saturday, FC Nantes had deplored that no local transport company had agreed to transport Canaris supporters to the stadium, the prefecture having issued a decree prohibiting their arrival other than in vehicles organized in a convoy.
