Three minors admit to “having struck” in Samara

The three minors arrested after the attack, Tuesday, in Montpellier, of Samara, a 13-year-old schoolgirl in front of her establishment, “admitted [lui] having carried out blows,” indicated the prosecution. Pre-trial detention was required for the oldest of them, a 15-year-old teenager. He is suspected of having dealt the most violent blows to the victim.

The three minors are “in the process of being presented to the public prosecutor’s office with a view to opening a judicial investigation for attempted intentional homicide of a minor [moins de] 15 years,” specifies the public prosecutor of Montpellier, Fabrice Belargent. It concerns a 14-year-old girl attending the same school and two boys aged 14 and 15.

Already a victim of violence a few days earlier

“It appears that this attack took place in the context of a group of adolescents who had the habit of insulting each other,” specifies the prosecutor. As well as “putting their respective photographs online and those of third parties on discussion groups created on instant messaging services. The tension between the accused and the victim results in part from these publications.”

Heard on her hospital bed by investigators, Samara revealed other violence committed a few days earlier by one of the three suspects. “However, she did not specifically mention at this stage acts of harassment over a long period concerning her,” specifies the prosecution.
