Three students from a high school in Sucy-en-Brie (Val-de-Marne) were hospitalized on Wednesday after inhaling an unknown substance by vaping with an electronic cigarette, according to a police source. The rectorate of Créteil is warned against “the dangerousness” of “synthetic drugs”.

Two other young people, suspected of having marketed the substance, were arrested and taken into custody, police sources said. Wednesday morning, before entering the establishment, three students from the Montaleau vocational school in Sucy-en-Brie were taken ill after consuming an unknown substance at this time, said the rectorate of Créteil in a press release sent to the AFP.

The dangerousness of unknown substances

One of the three students, transported to the Créteil hospital, felt unwell but was in the waking phase at the end of the morning, according to a police source, adding that the other two had complained of nausea and palpitations. Analyzes are in progress to identify the inhaled substance.

In its press release, the rectorate of Créteil recalled “the dangerousness of taking unknown substances, and in particular synthetic drugs”, and “reaffirms the academy’s commitment to a policy of prevention of behavior addictions in schools.

In April, several high school students were hospitalized in the Nord department or in Tarbes (Hautes-Pyrénées) after consuming “Buddha blues”, an extremely toxic synthetic cannabis which causes the same effects as THC, the psychotropic molecule of cannabis. . This synthetic drug, sold in liquid or powder form, has been circulating sporadically for several years in schools in France.
