A ski tour in Austria ended fatally for three people. They were away from the slopes when an avalanche buried them. Rescuers took one more person to the hospital.
In Austria there are three ski tourers from one avalanche buried and killed. The accident occurred on Saturday on the Lackenspitze near Tweng in Salzburg’s Lungau, as the police reported. Two out of three missing people were found dead, another was reanimated and taken to hospital, but died there.
Two other people were not buried but injured. They were all part of a group of eleven people under 30 from Austria. The avalanche broke off at around 2,400 meters. A slab of snow 200 meters wide and 500 meters long had come off.
