This is how the safety technology works in the Luise Kiesselbach Tunnel – Munich

Sensors, cameras, escape stairs: the Munich construction department is responsible for the safety of drivers in the tunnel. After the fire, we now have to wait for spare parts – but it can also give the all-clear.

Before the Luise Kiesselbach Tunnel and the Heckenstaller Tunnel were opened to traffic on July 27, 2015 after six years of construction, there was a party in the tube – without any cars. But before that, the construction department had the tunnels put through their paces: That took two whole days because the dimensions are enormous.
