One morning, Reshada wakes up, runs her hand through her hair and notices a tuft in the palm of her palm. The diagnosis falls a few days later: she suffers from lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease, responsible for her alopecia, the loss of her hair.
Following this diagnosis, Reshada fell into a deep depression. “It’s as if the hair defines our femininity and that, without hair, we no longer feel like a woman”, says the mother of the family in the video above. She has already had to deal with many thoughts like “Ah bah, are you bald? or “Do you have cancer? “. Reshada took more than ten years to come to terms with his bald head and come to terms with people’s sometimes inappropriate remarks about him, in particular thanks to psychotherapy.
After the speech of the former Prime Minister, Edouard Philippe, about his alopecia, Reshada decided to testify in turn to raise awareness about this disease and to inspire other affected people.
