Therme Erding: A banger view of the year 2023 – Erding

The Corona years 2020 and 2021 were a disaster for Therme Erding. For months, the wellness temple had to close completely or live with major restrictions on the maximum number of visitors. The result: a loss of sales of around 60 million euros. Nevertheless, investments and renovations were made. According to owner Jörg Wund, 2022 should be a “year of fine-tuning” and consolidation. But things turned out differently because of the energy crisis: “2022 was a struggle everywhere,” complains Wund. Nevertheless, he draws a reasonably positive conclusion, especially since August was the best month for visitors in the history of the thermal baths. However, he looks to the year 2023 with trepidation, above all because of the high energy costs that the citizens will probably have to face. Wund wonders whether there will be any money left over to be able to afford the “luxury spa”.
