A police officer from Bavaria was suspended from duty because he was a member of the Reich citizen scene. He has since retired, but the former police officer does not receive a pension. This is confirmed by a ruling by the Bavarian Administrative Court.

The Bavarian Administrative Court has rejected the appeal of a police officer who had been suspended from duty as a citizen of the Reich against the withdrawal of his pension. Friday’s ruling was final, said a spokesman for the court on Monday. Joachim Herrmann (CSU), Interior Minister of Bavaria, welcomed the decision: “This confirms our consistent action against Reich citizens in the police.”

Bavaria: That is why the court ruled against the pension

With his statements and behavior, the official rejected the state from the ground up and questioned its laws. “That is completely out of the question for a civil servant. The loss of his pension is a consequence that is as hard as it is necessary,” said Herrmann. “Anyone who denies that our state even exists cannot want to receive a salary or a pension from it.”

Until his suspension in February 2016, the police officer had been teaching at the training institute of the Bavarian Police in Ainring. He appealed against the removal from service. He retired in October 2019 while the legal process was ongoing; the appeal proceedings were therefore no longer about removal from service, but rather about the withdrawal of the pension.

Those who are convinced of the ideas of the Reich citizens have no business with the Bavarian police, said Herrmann. There are only a few individual cases – but these cannot be completely ruled out with more than 44,000 employees.
