1:34 p.m. : In Hayange (Moselle), a working-class city of 16,000 inhabitants, abstention had reached more than 33% in the second round in 2017. Our journalist Benjamin Illy met locals, whose priority is purchasing power. But no candidate seems to convince them.

12:03 : More than 70 activists from EELV and Génération s call to vote for Jean-Luc Mélenchon, “the left-wing candidate most likely to appear in the second round”in a column published on a blog by Mediapart.

12:03 : Hello @Maquis, Article 6 of the Constitution stipulates that the President of the Republic “cannot serve more than two consecutive terms”. Nothing therefore prevents, in theory, a former president from standing for a third time. But this scenario has, to my knowledge, never presented itself.

11:48 : Hello FI. I know that the President can only serve 2 terms, but 2 consecutive terms or in his entire life? Thanks, have a good day

11:39 : The socialist presidential candidate, Anne Hidalgo, invited several tenors of her party to dinner last night, learned franceinfo, confirming information from the World. They have “prepared for election night” but also addressed “the conditions of the gathering” from the left to the legislative ones. “Negotiations are underway with the Greens and the Communists”, said Senator Patrick Kanner. (THOMAS COEX / AFP)

11:30 a.m. : “If the French women and the French on Sunday do not put out an environmental bulletin, there will be no climate in the next five-year period”

On France Inter, Yannick Jadot attacked Jean-Luc Mélenchonone of its main competitors, believing that the latter had “resigned (…) leaving the Ukrainians facing the Russians.

11:22 : “As in any presidential election, propaganda can be available until Saturday, there is no delay”assures the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, questioned on BFMTV. Half of the French have received it”, he also assures.

10:33 am : Hello , La Poste has until Saturday April 9, the day before the first round, to deposit them in the mailboxes. A postmen strike disrupts distribution, but La Poste ensures that at least 45% of voters have received them in their mailbox. If you don’t have them yet, feel free to go view them online.

10:33 am : Hello FI, I too have a practical question regarding the upcoming elections. Is it democratic not to have received any profession of faith from any candidate to date? On the other hand, yesterday I received a voice message from the candidate Zemmour…to whom I had not asked anything! Professions of faith have the practice of being able to compare intentions with a balance sheet.. have a nice day everyone ☀️

09:44 : You are a few in the comments to ask me practical questions about the presidential election. What is the candidate program? Is the blank vote counted? What are the rules for speaking time in the media? We address these questions (and many more) in This article.

09:36 : Referendum, citizens’ convention, RIC… What are the presidential candidates proposing to reform democratic life? The majority of them mention the increased use of some form of referendum, whether citizens’ initiative or called by the executive. More informations here. Candidates on both the left and the right plead for greater recourse to referendums, citizens' assemblies, and even the citizens' initiative referendum (RIC). 08:44 : 🗣 Too many consulting firms? ➡️ “We are going to check if there is not a way to use these consulting firms less”, says Bruno Le Maire who denounces the “bad faith of the opposition”. “These consulting firms can be useful” on certain subjects, he believes. https://t.co/NCf0NAnitG

08:43 : 🔴 LIVE – 🗣 PNF investigation against McKinsey ➡️ “I never comment on court decisions”, answers Bruno Le Maire, Minister of the Economy. “The administration initiated a tax audit on McKinsey in November 2021. McKinsey will pay whatever it owes to the Treasury” https://t.co/QQFLHPkSIp

08:51 : “McKinsey will pay whatever it owes to the Treasury”assures Bruno Le Maire on franceinfo, whilean investigation for “aggravated laundering of tax evasion” was opened on March 31 by the National Financial Prosecutor’s Office against the consulting firm. “We are going to check if there is not a way to employ these consulting firms less”adds Bruno Le Maire, who nevertheless believes that they can be “useful”.

08:36 : Bruno Le Maire, supporter of Emmanuel Macron, is the guest of “Presidential Mornings” on franceinfo. Listen to it here.

08:32 : In the same interview, Emmanuel Macron also specifies that he wants to launch “major projects, school, health, retirement, autonomy, justice, from the first year” of his second term, if re-elected. And “for pensions, there will be a phase of consultation with the social partners. But the mandate is clear (…) it must be from next autumn”he maintained.

08:31 : New nod to the right of the president-candidate, a few days before the first round. “On the question of work and merit, to take just one example, I find myself in what President Sarkozy defended”launches Emmanuel Macron, in an interview with Figaro (article reserved for subscribers).

08:26 : “We must stop now to supply Russian gas.” 🗨 @Anne_Hidalgo candidate PS #presidential2022▶ #Les4V @Caroline_Roux in podcast – https://t.co/ly7zKzyWYu https://t.co/OpRv0KfJsQ

08:26 : “We must simply stop sourcing Russian gas”launches Anne Hidalgo on France 2, which asks to stop the “complacency” with the Russian regime.

08:17 : Hello @Martine. This is possible until the start of the reserve period, which covers Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 April. Those days, “no poll, result or electoral remarks can be broadcast”recalls the Arcom, new body which brings together the Superior Council of Audiovisual (CSA) and Hadopi.

08:17 : Hello 🙋‍♀️ Until when do the media have the right to broadcast opinion polls on the presidential elections?

07:50 : 💬 “I will govern within the framework of a government of national unity, in particular with people who will join me either before or after the second round”, @MLP_officiel in #RTLPresidentielle. “My problem will be to choose, much more than to find” https://t.co/JOkKTcAv4k

07:50 : With whom intends to govern Marine Le Pen, if she is elected? The candidate supported by the National Rally assures on RTL that she will propose a “government of national unity”claiming to be open to “chevènementist left”. And promises she’ll find it harder to “Choose” what to “to find” people to join it, while the RN has long suffered from a shortage of executives.

07:27 : The first round is getting closer… and it shows in your kiosks! While the communist candidate Fabien Roussel calls not to give in to the “useful” vote in L’Humanité magazine, Challenges there is the question of the eco program of the candidates. And Release warning about the potential victory of Marine Le Pen, whom he considers to be a “danger”.

07:18 : Proportional, term of office, Sixth Republic… What do the presidential candidates propose to reform the institutions? Take a look at our article to find out. Candidates on the right, as on the left, are considering institutional reforms during their five-year term if they become president. (JESSICA KOMGUEN / FRANCEINFO)(JESSICA KOMGUEN / FRANCEINFO)

07:01 : Hello @intrigued, you are right, it is subtle. Since mid-March, members of the government, but also civil servants, must refrain from supporting a candidate when they speak officially, and reduce their travel in the context of the campaign. On the other hand, their word and their movements remain free when they express themselves as a simple political figure. Bruno Le Maire is therefore invited as a support for Emmanuel Macron, and not as Minister of the Economy.

07:31 : Hello FI. You receive Bruno Le Maire. So he can come and express himself as a support for Emmanuel Macron while he is a minister? I thought it was impossible because of the electoral reserve? Please enlighten me 😊
