What would the planned “X-Files” reboot be without Dana Scully and Fox Mulder? Gillian Anderson would probably play again.

More than 30 years ago, the first episode of the mystery cult series “The X-Files – The Sinister Cases of the FBI” with David Duchovny (63) and Gillian Anderson (55) are on the screens. The series is supposed to come back in a new form, “Black Panther” director Ryan Coogler (37) is working on a reboot. Yes Will FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, originally played by Duchovny and Anderson, be there again?

Gillian Anderson would like to do the reboot

“The X-Files” originally ran until 2002, got two movies and was revived for two revival seasons in 2016 and 2018. But what about the reboot? “It’s so funny because since I finished ‘The X-Files,’ people have asked me in every interview and the answer has always been, ‘No, that’s not going to happen.'” Anderson says on the “Today” show. Coogler is “a brilliant, brilliant director” and he approached series creator Chris Carter (67) “to say that he wants to take over the series, and I can’t think of a better way to do a reboot.”

While there is a good chance of a reboot for them, their possible involvement is a completely different story. Apparently she hasn’t been asked yet, but Anderson explains: “I’m not saying no. I think [Ryan Coogler] is really cool and I think if he did it it would probably be done incredibly well. And maybe I’ll stop by for a little appearance.” So there could still be a reunion with Scully, even if it sounded different a few years ago. “It’s time for me to hang up Scully’s hat. That’s just the way it is,” Anderson had Said at the beginning of 2018.
