57.60 meters long, 570 beans and 200 kg of frangipane. On Saturday, five artisan bakers from Aurillac, in Cantal, took up the challenge of the Cœur Aurillacois association and broke the world record for the longest king cake, according to the town hall. The previous record was held by Alsatians with a height of 50.35 meters.
In order to achieve this international feat, measured by a bailiff in order to be authenticated and appear in the Guinness bookthe bakers prepared nineteen plates of 60 cm by 40 cm each and then assembled everything in front of the Aurillac town hall.
The longest pancake in the world was then cut up and sold individually for the benefit of Secours populaire.
