the (very) worrying statistic for the Parisians before the return match

The Parisians have never managed to qualify for the Champions League after a home defeat.

The data is clear. After its 2-3 defeat against Barça at the Parc des Princes this Wednesday, in the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League, Paris-SG will have to win at the Monjuic stadium next Tuesday in order to validate their ticket for the semi-final . The Parisians are condemned to the feat. Bad news ? They have, in their history, never managed to reverse the trend after losing at home in the first leg in the C1 final phase. Four defeats at the Parc des Princes in the first leg, in 1995 (Milan), 2015 (Barcelona), 2021 (Manchester City) and 2023 (Bayern), four eliminations.

Remember, however, that PSG won 4-1 during their last visit to Catalonia. It was at the round of 16 stage, during the 2020-21 season. At least this time there will be no question of erasing the specter of the comeback.
