The “Unter Uns” star became a grandmother at the age of 49

In June, the actress announced that her daughter was expecting a baby. Now the baby is born and Claudelle Deckert reveals the first details about her grandson.

A few months ago, “Unter Uns” star Claudelle Deckert shared happy news with her over 100,000 fans on Instagram: The actress announced that she would be a grandma for the first time at the age of 49. “The anticipation of my grandchild makes my heart jump with joy,” she wrote at the time alongside a photo of herself and her pregnant daughter Romy and explained that she could hardly wait “to hear the first breath, to hold the little hands to smooch soft feet […] and to experience all the other precious moments that lie ahead.”

Now the time had finally come: Romy gave birth to a little boy. She and her mother announced this on their accounts. “From the stomach straight to our heart,” said the 26-year-old about a black and white photo in which her hand, that of her partner and the little hand of her son can be seen. The little one was born on November 10th and is named Charles, Romy continues and enthuses: “We are full of love, joy and happiness and are enjoying getting to know each other.”

“I would like to be called Omily”

In an Instagram story, Claudelle Deckert shared her grandson’s full name: Charles Dean Deckert. “Charlie, we love you,” she writes in English. The sweet message comes from “Ma”, “Pa” and “Omily”. The actress, who will celebrate her 50th birthday in January next year, made it clear before she was born that she wanted to be called that.

“Since I’m a little, young grandma, I would like to be called Omily,” said Claudelle Deckert at the time. She thinks that the word “grandma” ages her by ten to 20 years. “Since I’m trying to slow down the aging process, I’m not really comfortable with this title yet,” she emphasized.
