The treble still possible for Manchester City, which offers its neighbor United

A double story to afford a possible triple. Thanks to two goals from Ilkay Gündogan, Manchester City beat Manchester United (2-1) on Saturday at Wembley, winning the FA Cup and opening the way to a historic treble, after their league title and before the Champions League final.

City’s German captain struck from the first minute, scoring the fastest goal in FA Cup final history. Bruno Fernandes equalized from the penalty spot (33rd), but Gündogan restored the advantage to his team (51st). The English champions, crowned two weeks ago, will try to win their first Champions League next Saturday in Istanbul against Inter Milan, for a hat-trick that Manchester United are the only English club to have achieved, in 1999.
