The traffic light coalition is facing the week of truth – politics

The traffic light alliance must find solutions in the coming days: for the heating, the budget and the asylum dispute. Otherwise the SPD, Greens and FDP face a chaotic summer break.

After months of fierce arguments, the Berlin traffic light coalition is facing a week of truth: the SPD, Greens and FDP will not only have to settle their disputes over the Building Energy Act (GEG) and the federal budget in the coming days, if both projects, as planned, go ahead before the summer break should be taken through the parliamentary route. Rather, it must also be clarified whether the Greens support last week’s EU asylum compromise, which has received massive criticism within the party. The Green Youth even indirectly questioned the continued existence of the coalition.
