The town hall refuses a parade of bikers for Women’s Rights Day

For Women’s Rights Day, which will take place on Sunday March 13, the Lyon women bikers of the association All on a motorcycle claimed the right to march, like every year since 2012. But the EELV town hall of Lyon refused their request on Tuesday, reveals Progress. Reason: too polluting. Instead, the municipality recommends a parade of bicycles…

The Lyon participants had already been refused last year, for the same reasons. They had all the same succeeded in making their bikes roar with the agreement of the Prefecture. A new request has therefore been submitted to the Prefecture to perform their traditional parade, supposed to leave from Place Jean-Jaurès (Lyon 7) at 2:30 p.m.

A solidarity association that has paraded in Lyon since 2012

Created in 2010, Tous en moto is the largest community of female bikers in France. It has a solidarity vocation since it fights for gender equality, fights against violence against women and against precariousness, collects donations to donate them to local associations. The Lyon branch of Tous en moto, which has been parading since 2012, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

This year, 14 parades are planned throughout France on March 13, with its share of animations, raffles, accompanied walks to collect more donations. A record in which the Lyonnaises intend to participate.
