“The Super Mario Bros. Movie” in the cinema: Now it’s being pumped – culture

There are traumas of a cinematographic nature that have not yet been fully healed, even after decades. A particularly gruesome example is the film adaptation of the video game “Super Mario Bros.” with real actors from the year 1993. You could summarize the plot – or “the plot” – again at this point, but let’s leave it at that. You don’t have to intentionally induce a headache. It’s enough to know that the two actors who play the plumber brothers Mario and Luigi, Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo, are said to have drunk a lot of whiskey during filming to get through the whole thing. And that Dennis Hopper, who played the villain turtle King Koopa, might have given up his career by that point.
