The State (re)puts its hand in its pocket for transport

More money to develop transport in the Paca region. After the “Marseille en grand plan” of which a large part must be used to finance new public transport in the metropolis of Aix-Marseille, the State announced this Friday a new envelope of 1.5 billion euros to the Paca region.

Traveling to Marseille, Clément Baune, the Minister of Transport, signed a State-Region contract with Renaud Muselier. The allocations which “will be invested by the end of the five-year term”.

In detail, 1.1 billion will be used to “develop and modernize rail, cycling, maritime and public transport infrastructures” and more particularly to “finance the first studies and works of metropolitan regional express services, particularly around Marseille”, specifies the press release.

The large maritime port of Marseille is not left out, with 370 million euros “to accelerate its energy transition and increase the attractiveness of its industrial zone”.
