The soprano Lise Davidsen. A portrait – culture

Such a voice has not appeared in the international music business for a long time: An encounter with the Norwegian soprano Lise Davidsen, whose personal story fits pretty well into the myth of the Nordic natural wonder.

Lise Davidsen will rarely be seen as close as these days in the Cuvilliés Theater. A group of just 90 listeners gathers in the rococo gem in Munich. This is by no means due to a lack of interest in the Norwegian soprano recital, but rather to the Bavarian corona rules, which reduce the room occupancy to a quarter. Davidsen takes it easy. After all, in the past few days she has already experienced everything with this program, as she said before the encores, from the complete cancellation (in Oslo) to fully booked halls (in Berlin). In between, pianist Leif Ove Andsnes also tested positive for Corona, another song accompanist had to step in.
