Kick-off. The Socialist Party and La France insoumise published, Monday, May 10, in the evening, the list of the first candidates for the legislative elections invested within the framework of the New popular ecological and social union (Nupes). Le PS unveiled a first wave of 56 candidates including its first secretary Olivier Faure on the 70 socialists who will be invested by the alliance on the left between LFI, the PS, the PCF and EELV. • The PS bets on continuity. The Socialist Party has invested almost all its outgoing deputies and has not sanctioned dissenting voices within it: among the list of nominations under the colors of the Nupes, we find the outgoing Dominique Potier (who had nevertheless say they don’t want this support), Hervé Saulignac (rather surprised to be invested without being asked his opinion) or even Valérie Rabault, who had voted against the agreement.

• La France insoumise replaces Taha Bouhafs. From candidates invested by LFI, we find Idir Boumertit. This PCF deputy mayor of Vénissieux (Rhône) replaces journalist Taha Bouhafs, who has given up running. Also note the presence of comedian Gérald Dahan in Charente-Maritime and Danielle Simonnet in Paris, in a disputed constituency with the Socialist Bet.

• Macron targets Nupes in Aubervilliers. Coming to visit the candidates of the presidential majority gathered in a seminar in Aubervilliers (Seine-Saint-Denis), Emmanuel Macron frontally attacked the New popular ecological and social union on Tuesday: “The only ecological project on the far left is degrowth”he notably tackled.
