The slaughter of a wolf which attacks an authorized herd

The days of a wolf from the region of Aix-en-Provence are numbered After suffering five attacks in two months, killing around ten of his animals, a sheep breeder from Puy-Sainte-Réparade obtained authorization to a sampling shot, reports BFM Marseille.

A louveterie lieutenant, a sort of hunter approved by the prefecture for “pest” slaughter operations, will be in charge of this hunt. According to the latest estimates from the authorities, there are six packs of wolves in Bouches-du-Rhône, compared to 24 in neighboring Var, and 5 in Vaucluse.
