The robber Hotzenplotz shortens the waiting time for the Christ child in the cinema – Munich

There are said to be children who develop a kind of meditative mood on Christmas Eve, who patiently await the presents, hold séances or perfect their flute playing. For everyone else, this day is pure agony: when will it finally be evening? In order to shorten the waiting time (and to be able to make final preparations undisturbed), we recommend going to the cinema with the youngsters; many cinemas are also open during the day on December 24th. The range of family films is large and ranges from American animated films (“Puss in Boots: The Last Wish”) to German cinema hits for children (“School of Magical Animals 2”) to Norwegian winter fairy tales (“A Christmas for Teddy”).

The remake of “The Robber Hotzenplotz” is also great fun for children Nicholas Ofczarek in the title role. The Viennese film and theater actor inspires with humor and crook charm, supported by no less playful stars such as Olli Dittrich, August Diehl and Luna Wedler as well as the child actors Hans Marquardt and Benedikt Jenke. As in the previous film adaptations of Otfried Preußler’s book, the story is about a coffee grinder robbery, evil magicians, beautiful fairies, eager village police officers and a dachshund who has mutated into a crocodile. The film was released in the cinemas at the beginning of December, but at Christmas it should entertain and soothe many excited children.
