The Polygon network was down 11 hours after the upgrade.

Polygon, the Layer-2 Ethereum scaling solution, hasn’t been building a new block for over 11 hours, with developers stating that the problem comes from a technical upgrade on the network.

On March 10 at 4:20 p.m. UTC, developer Polygon Network (MATIC) notified users inforumof the project that There may be an outage beginning around 5:50 PM UTC due to maintenance of one of the three network layers. The latest upgrade is expected to cause network capacity errors.

“We suspect there may be an upgrade bug that affects consensus and makes Heimdall validators different across different versions of the chain, therefore less than 2/3 of the consensus.”

The Polygon team has releasedupdateat about 1:30 UTC, explaining that the error was still being worked on. And hotfixes are applied to help continue building the blog.

The team also gave confidence withUsers say that all “funds” and “data” on the network are safe.

Clearly, Polygon users understand the downtime. But at the sixth hour, murmurs began to appear in the community. Most users have pointed out concerns about extending the downtime period.
