the policeman who did not take the complaint of the victim of domestic violence was suspended

BFM TV INFO – The director general of the national police has decided to suspend the police officer as a precaution.

The policeman who did not take the plant from the victim of domestic violence on November 13 was suspended as a precaution by the director general of the national police (DGPN), BFMTV learned from a police source.

The General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) was seized on Friday after the violent assault of this 24-year-old young woman, struck by her former companion a few hours after presenting herself without having been received at the Blois police station.

The victim, placed in a coma, suffers from “major hemorrhagic brain damage”, said the prosecutor of the Republic of Blois Charlotte Beluet.

Earlier this Tuesday, the police officer was heard by the IGPN as part of an administrative investigation opened after the attack, BFMTV had also learned.

The former companion arrested

On the criminal level, a judicial investigation was opened by the Blois prosecutor’s office for attempted murder. The former companion of the victim, aged 27 and “known to justice […] for acts of violence”, was arrested on December 15 in Plaisir, in the Yvelines.

During his hearings, he indicated that he wanted “to have explanations”, in particular on the break-up. He admitted to having given several “crushing” kicks in the head of the victim but however “disputed having intended to kill his former companion”.

Nearly 200 people in front of the police station

This Tuesday, between 150 and 200 people demonstrated in the streets of Blois to the city police station to denounce the police’s treatment of violence against women.

This case “reflects our society in which we do not do our job against violence against women. […] What is fundamental, when you receive a woman, is to know if she is safe,” lamented Micheline Dupont, from the Droit des Femmes 41 collective, at the initiative of the rally.
