RTL is happy about good ratings for “The Passion”. The live music event was also a hit on Twitter – many users scoffed at the show.

Good ratings and ridicule on social media: RTL staged “The Passion” live on Burgplatz in Essen. “The greatest story of all time” about the last days in the life of Jesus Christ – “transported to the present day with the help of well-known German pop songs” – was shown by the station with a line-up of stars on Wednesday evening (April 13) during prime time.

The show generated a lot of interest from TV audiences. RTL tweeted about the ratings success in the target group: “#DiePassion sends a strong signal and inspires the audience: The live music event won yesterday with 14.6% (14-59 y.) & 14.1% (14-49 y.) the double primetime victory!” A total of 2.91 million viewers saw the production of the Easter story. Some of them seemed to be having so much fun that they decided to share it with the public via Twitter. “#DiePassion” is number one among the trends on the short message service.
