The Paris prosecutor’s office opens an investigation into the espionage of journalists

After the revelations Sunday by several media on the espionage of thirty journalists and French media bosses by the Moroccan intelligence services via Israeli software, the Paris prosecutor’s office announced this Tuesday in a press release, the opening of an investigation.

This investigation was opened for a long list of ten offenses including “invasion of privacy”, “interception of correspondence”, “fraudulent access” to a computer system and “criminal association”.

A complaint from Chained duck

This investigation follows the complaint filed on Monday by the French news site Mediapart and its journalists Edwy Plenel and Lenaïg Bredoux, targeted by the spyware, to which must be added a similar complaint from the Chained duck.

The investigations were entrusted to the Central Office for the Fight against Crime Related to Information and Communication Technologies (OCLCTIC) of the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ).
