10 more patients in intensive care
A total of 7,137 people with Covid were hospitalized on Monday, compared to 7,183 on Sunday and 7,806 a week ago. 267 patients have been admitted to hospital in the past 24 hours.
Critical care services, which treat the most serious cases, had 957 patients against 947 the day before, with 55 new admissions since Sunday. As of Monday, critical care services numbered 1,077 patients, a key indicator, which peaked at 6,000 patients at the peak of the third wave in late April, fell below 1,000 on Wednesday. The disease killed 28 people in 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to around 111,380 since the start of the epidemic in March 2020.
