With more than 15,000 coronavirus patients treated, the pressure on hospitals remains and the number of patients treated in critical care remains stable, according to
data published by Public Health France, this Thursday.
In detail, 2,832 patients were treated Thursday in critical care services, where the most serious cases of Covid-19 are received, including 248 new admissions. They were 2,843 the day before and 2,461 last Thursday.
More than 60,000 positive cases in 24 hours
In total, 15,142 patients are hospitalized due to Covid-19, a figure that has been increasing since the beginning of November. Between Wednesday and Thursday, 1,342 new Covid patients were admitted. During the last 24 hours, 60,866 new cases have been diagnosed while the day before the number of new cases (65,713) had reached an unprecedented level since the beginning of April. The positivity rate, which relates the number of cases to that of tests, does not decrease and increases to 6.8% against 6.7% the day before, knowing that this indicator is stopped three days before its publication.
Since the start of the pandemic, 121,171 people have died from Covid-19 in France, including 94,156 in hospital. Over the past 24 hours, hospitals have recorded 166 coronavirus-related deaths. Vaccination continues with 76.2% of French people fully vaccinated, or 51,355,680 people, and 77.8% of French people having received at least one injection, or 52,421,522 people.
