In the past year there were rumoursthat Nintendo is planning to add Game Boy games to its Nintendo Switch Online subscription service. We’ve known for a while that there are four emulators for Nintendo Switch that are being developed by Nintendo.
kachikachi (NES), canoe (SNES), Hiyoko and count. While the first two are obvious and already in use, the other two could potentially be used for Game Boy and Game Boy Color games. Maybe Game Boy Advance too? A supposed leak strongly suggests that Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance games will appear on the Nintendo Switch.
We envision the Game Boy and Game Boy Color games being included in the basic online membership while keeping the Game Boy Advance titles for the expansion pack. According to the Twitter user @trashbandatcoot Files were leaked on 4chan containing a Nintendo-developed GBA emulator codenamed “Sloop” and a Game Boy emulator called “Hiyoko”, both developed by Nintendo of Europe’s NERD (Nintendo European Research & Development) team became.
