Green light to swim in the new Mérignac swimming pool. On February 18 and 19, an open house weekend is organized in UCPA Aqua Stadiuma brand new facility whose initial opening was scheduled for December 19, 2022.
On registration, the first users will be able to discover a lot of activities there, before the opening, from Monday, February 20, to the general public and to schoolchildren. The Waterjump, (outdoor slides) which has prompted an appeal from local residents, will for the time being not accessible to the public, like all the equipment located outside.
Partial opening
It is in particular an amendment voted by the Council of Bordeaux Métropole which allows the future operator, the UCPA, to partially open the equipment (indoor aquatic areas, the slide, the Nordic pool, the restaurant and the car park), in waiting for the regularization of the building permit and the complete opening.
“The decree signed by the mayor of Mérignac, on December 30, 2022, allows, in accordance with the case law of the right to construction, the partial opening of the equipment following the positive opinions of two safety commissions”, adds Bordeaux Métropole. in a press release.
