This is an expected publication. An American judge on December 18 ordered the publication of around 180 names of people linked to Jeffrey Epstein, the former American financier who committed suicide in 2019 in prison after being accused of “sex trafficking of minors”. This list, however, does not only contain the names of “accomplices”, as wrongly claimed in a video published on TikTok on December 30 and viewed more than 440,000 times.
These names appeared in the defamation complaint filed by Virginia Giuffre, one of Jeffrey Epstein’s victims, against Ghislaine Maxwell. This former mistress of the businessman was sentenced in 2022 to twenty years in prison for sex trafficking of minors. The two parties reached an agreement in 2017 over the defamation complaint.

Not all of the names on this list are “accomplices.” Victims or people who frequented Epstein appear there, according to the judge’s order that we were able to consult. Several of these names have already been made public in the press or during the trial of Ghislaine Maxwell, judge Loretta Preska argued to justify their publication. Some are also available in public police documents.
The names of a former couple of employees of Jeffrey Epstein, several victims or a woman who testified to her role as a tout should appear, because the judge notes that these people have already granted interviews. The list also contains the names of two journalists who investigated the businessman.
The judge also notes that the content linked to many of the people whose names are to be revealed is not “salacious.” According to our information, around ten names should not be made public, either because they are victims who were minors at the time of the events, or because they are people who played a peripheral role.
The names of several personalities are expected. That of Prince Andrew, brother of King Charles III who was accused of sexual assault by Virginia Giuffre, could thus appear. The prince denied all accusations made against him. According to the American channel ABC News, former US President Bill Clinton is also on the list, but “there is no indication that the sealed files contain evidence of illegal behavior on the part of [Bill] Clinton.” The documents could include the name of Jean-Luc Brunel, a former French modeling agent, who committed suicide in February 2022 after being indicted for rape. In 2019, 20 minutes had investigated his links to Jeffrey Epstein.
The date of publication of this list has not yet been confirmed. In December, the judge indicated that it would be possible from January 1, unless one of the people cited filed an appeal against the lifting of their anonymity.
