The Munch Museum opens in Oslo – Culture

13 floors, 27,000 works: The MUNCH in Oslo is beyond all dimensions. It is the largest museum in the world dedicated to just one artist.

When words curdle into comic bubbles, emotions usually boil. BOOM! WOW! BANG! In Oslo there are now five letters that are supposed to cause excitement on a tower almost 60 meters high. The gigantic letters lean back so much that it looks as if the word has to brake hard in order not to slide over the corrugated aluminum facade into the open sea. So there is drama. Emotions too. Because the word MUNCH screams into the Oslo fjord.
