The mayor of Marignane wants to equip his teachers with tear gas bombs

You will have to close your eyes if your teacher, exasperated, says “I’m going to pull the pin”. Eric Le Dissès, the mayor (DVD) of Marignane, announced in a letter addressed to school directors his intention to provide school staff with tear gas bombs, reports BFM Marseille. Supplied with necklace or bracelet alarms, this is designed as a security device to defend yourself in the event of intrusion into the establishment.

An intention confirmed by the Bouches-du-Rhône prefecture at France 3 which recalls that a tear gas bomb is considered a category D weapon whose wearing and transport is prohibited without legitimate reason.

This is not the first time that Eric Le Dissès has been talked about for his school policy. Last December, the mayor of Marignane made meat compulsory in canteens, by requiring his municipal agents to serve all components of the menu – including meat. A decision of which Gabriel Attal, then short-lived Minister of National Education, said he was “shocked” on RTL.
