She is not tender with the text she had to defend in the National Assembly. Macronist MP Monique Iborra is “angry” after a “big mess” on the majority bill dedicated to “aging well”. She gave up being rapporteur and “will not vote for it” to denounce her lack of ambition, she told AFP on Wednesday.
“I had set two conditions to be rapporteur: that the text be enriched and that it be a step before a great law on old age”, which is no longer relevant, denounced the elected representative of Haute- Garonne. “I worked with the cabinet of the Minister” of Solidarités Jean-Christophe Combe. “I realized that we were not on the same planet,” said MP Renaissance.
“I wanted to see real reforms” demanded in “already numerous reports” in the Assembly as in the Senate, continues the elected representative of the left wing of the majority. She calls for a “reform on the remaining charge, the first concern of people in Ehpad”, with a modulation “according to income”. “The minister refused it to me,” she lamented.

Like the left, MP Renaissance would like to enshrine in law a ratio of the minimum number of staff in nursing homes in relation to the number of residents. Again, she was unsuccessful. “Then I saw overnight what the minister finally intended to put in this text when a bill is supposed to be written by parliamentarians. It is a loss of competence of the Assembly”, regretted Monique Iborra.
“I have decided to withdraw, I will not vote for it and I am not participating in the debates. I’m angry, it’s a big waste when we could have had a consensual text after the retreats, ”she insisted. His colleague Laurence Cristol took over this role of rapporteur alongside Annie Vidal.
The National Assembly began Tuesday the examination of the text “to build the society of aging well”, but the opposition is annoyed by an “empty shell” and the text frustrates certain deputies of the majority.
