The operation had been kept secret.
In the wake of Last Renovation actions in the Paris region, the Lyon branch decided to imitate them this Friday morning.
Shortly after 8 a.m., a small group of nine environmental activists met at the Musée des Confluences then walked on the nearby M7, after the Confluence flyover towards Fourvière, to block traffic and denounce the government inaction on the fight against global warming, and demand more resources to carry out the energy transition, in particular that of buildings.
Similar operations are carried out simultaneously in Paris and Toulouse. Other actions could take place in the coming weeks in Lyon, according to Dernier Rénovation.
It remains to be seen who will evacuate the activists sitting on the road first this Friday: the exasperated motorists or the police. An official, who arrived on a motorbike, was on site shortly after the start of the blockage, reinforcements arrived to unblock the tracks. Many insults are erupted against the Lyon group, which however let an ambulance pass.
The police finally managed to put all the activists on the side after half an hour of blocking, for an identity check and their arrest.
