Karlheinz Voll left “Die Höhle der Löwen” in April 2021 with a deal for his DIY invention. Now he is dead. Mentor Ralf Dümmel mourns him.

“Never before has it been so difficult for me to post as it is today,” writes Ralf Dümmel on san Instagram channel. The black and white photo shows the investor with the “Lion’s Cave” candidate Karlheinz Voll, who recently passed away. The two are holding the product in their hands, which brought the founder a deal with Dümmel in April 2021, the “winged spirit level”.

With his invention, Karlheinz Voll not only inspired the investor, but also numerous do-it-yourselfers. It is a classic spirit level in which the master mason and civil engineer has built a fold-out “wing”: an additional joint in which a second spirit level is located. The tool makes it possible to level in two directions at the same time.

Product from “The Lion’s Den” becomes a success

The inventor wanted to use it to make the life of ex-colleagues on the construction site and handling in their own home easier – with success. The “Flüwa” was soon sold out in many hardware stores.

“You inspired me as an entrepreneur,” writes his mentor on Instagram. However, the personal relationship between the two was more important to him. With Karlheinz Voll he has “gained a friend in life”. His death hurt the investor very much. “I will never forget you,” Dümmel continued. His thoughts are with his family, whom he wishes a lot of strength.

As “picture” reported, Karlheinz Voll is said to have died as a result of cancer. He already knew about the diagnosis before he appeared on TV. But he still wanted to get his start-up off the ground.
