The level of vaccination in Europe is insufficient to avoid a resurgence of the pandemic, warned on Thursday the European branch of the World Health Organization (WHO), also calling to avoid the “mistake” of the rise in case in the summer of 2020.

“Vaccination coverage is far from sufficient to protect the region from a resurgence,” warned WHO’s European director, Hans Kluge, in an online press conference, at a time when 30% of the population in the region has received a first dose of vaccine and 17% are fully vaccinated.
