Anyone who behaves in a way that is harmful to the climate is rewarded instead of punished in Germany. This is the result of a study funded by the Federal Ministry of Research Study of the Copernicus Project Ariadne. Accordingly, citizens are more likely to be induced to emit CO₂ by subsidies in the transport sector than there are incentives to reduce emissions.
