The last Quick restaurant has closed its doors, soon to be replaced by a Burger King

Brittany has just definitively said goodbye to the Giant and the Quick’N Toast. Opened in 2008 on Place de la République in Rennes, the last Quick restaurant in the region closed its doors a few days ago. On the facade of the restaurant, a sign indicates “interior redevelopment work following a change of brand” with France BKR as the beneficiary. In other words, it is a Burger King which will set up in the coming months in the heart of Rennes, a city where the American chain already has three points of sale.

While the news will sadden some, it is not a surprise. In a few years, around 300 restaurants under the Quick brand have been transformed into Burger King following the acquisition in 2015 of the brand with the red and white logo by the Bertrand group. During 2021, the latter sold the remaining hundred Quick restaurants to the American investment fund HIG Capital.

In the columns of Parisian, the new CEO of Quick Frédéric Levacher announced in February the opening of around twenty restaurants in 2023 “with the objective of doubling the number within five years. »
