The Langendonk couple were murdered 25 years ago – the perpetrator is still unknown today

On June 7, 1997, the Dutch couple Truus and Harry Langendonk were traveling in Bavaria with their camper. They had bought the mobile especially so that they could go on many more trips after they had retired. They visited the Herrenchiemsee, ate in an inn and then took a break at the edge of the forest near the small town of Litzlwalchen. But there, an unknown person decided to end the life of the travel-loving and sociable couple. The perpetrator then removed the mobile home and the mortal remains from the crime scene.

The double murder counts as one of the most brutal crimes in the region

The next day, a burned-out mobile home was discovered in a forest parking lot near Nuremberg. The bodies of the Langendonks were still inside. So the perpetrator had driven about 230 kilometers from the scene of the crime before he set it on fire to destroy all traces. That same night he got into a taxi not far from the scene of the fire and had the driver take him to Nuremberg Central Station. From there he took another taxi back to the Traunstein district. This behavior suggests that the perpetrator came from the region.

To this day, the double murder in the region counts as one of the most brutal crimes ever committed by the Traunstein Criminal Investigation Department. Despite intensive investigative work with forensic scientists, forensic scientists and so-called profilers, the police officers have not yet been able to find out who committed this terrible act – and why.

At the request of star the Bavarian police have not yet produced any new investigation results. Advice will still be accepted:

The description can be found in the photo gallery.

Witnesses can contact the Traunstein Criminal Police Inspectorate at any time on 0861-98730 or any other police station.
