The king entered the hospital for his prostate operation

It is a common pathology among men of his age. But which, in the absence of treatment, can lead to a deterioration in the functioning of the bladder… King Charles III, 75, entered the hospital on Friday to be operated on for his benign prostatic hypertrophy, announced Buckingham Palace Friday in a press release.

“The king was admitted to a London hospital this morning for scheduled treatment. Her Majesty would like to thank everyone who has sent her well wishes over the past week and is delighted to learn that her diagnosis is having a positive impact on public health awareness,” the palace said.

The British have indeed inquired en masse about this disease: the dedicated page of the site of the NHS, the British public health service, had more than 26,000 visits in 48 hours, compared to 1,400 daily visits on average in the previous days.

The king visited Kate

For her part, Princess Kate, wife of Prince William, is currently recovering from an abdominal operation announced last week, in this same London clinic. According to British media, the king visited him just before his operation.

Note that this is the very first time, since his accession to the throne on September 8, 2022 upon the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II, that Buckingham Palace publicly discusses the state of health of the king.
