Part of France will still suffocate this Wednesday. The weather will indeed still be very hot over a large southern half of France, according to Météo-France forecasts.

Red heat wave vigilance will be extended to 19 departments, on a wide diagonal from the Gers to Ain, while 37 departments will be on orange vigilance under a line running from Vendée to Bas-Rhin.

Temperatures that can occasionally reach 43 degrees

Over a large southern half of the country, as far as Vendée and Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, minimum temperatures will not drop below 20 to 25 degrees in general, or even 22 to 27 degrees. During the day the heat will increase. It will be between 34 and 39 degrees from Vendée to Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, 36 to 40 degrees in the south but often up to 40 to 42 degrees, very occasionally 43, from the Rhône valley to the south-west of the country. .

Very often, a blazing sun will continue to impose itself on all these regions, even if from the north of New Aquitaine to Bourgogne-Franche-Comté cloudy periods will circulate from the morning, with a small risk of showers towards Poitou-Charentes.

Again in the afternoon, the relief of the Pyrenees, the Massif Central and the border Alps will be filled with threatening clouds and a few showers will break out, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms. At the end of the afternoon, clouds will be able to spread towards the regions close to these massifs, but the weather will remain dry.

On the other hand, from Brittany and the north of the Loire to Benelux, in the early morning we will appreciate a little freshness with minimums between 13 and 18 degrees in general, then in the afternoon the temperatures will remain between 28 and 34 degrees, 22 to 27 at the edge of the Channel.

On the sky side, after the dissipation of the low clouds again present near the English Channel, the sun will dominate despite a few cloudy periods that are harmless at first. In the evening, a few stormy showers will be possible in the northwest of France.
