The DWD withdrew this warning at 5:32 p.m. Heavy rain and thunderstorms swept over northern Germany on Friday. In Laatzen near Hanover, lightning struck a detached house and set the roof on fire, as the fire brigade announced. As a result, nobody was injured. On the A7 near Seesen and on the A39 near Salzgitter, aquaplaning temporarily obstructed traffic. In addition, several roads were partially closed in Salzgitter due to the water masses.
