The health sector is establishing itself in the long term

Despite a year 2020 disrupted economically by the health crisis, the
Toulouse Métropole attractiveness agency confident advance this year. While aeronautics has been shaken up, other areas such as health are doing well.

A satisfaction for the metropolitan agency which has been working for the economic diversification of the territory for several years.

Evotec is leading the way

Branch Invest in Toulouse last year recorded 17 locations, or 370 jobs. The creation of a production site for the company
Evotec, already installed on the former Sanofi site since 2015, notably consolidates Toulouse as a leader in biotechnologies. “A health ecosystem, since the arrival of Evotec, is taking off, assures Dominique Faure, vice-president of Toulouse Métropole. Organic production is a major lever for diversification in the years to come ”.

Evotec, whose first site has 700 employees, will invest 150 million euros for the construction of a plant for monoclonal antibodies against infectious diseases. “We have decided to continue our development in Toulouse because there are quality teams and a solid basis for growth,” explains Craig Jonhstone, president of the company. There is here a framework favorable to development, facilitated by the involvement of public authorities and communities such as the Attractiveness Agency ”.

This new factory, which will employ 150 people, will be opened in 2023.
