The glass artist Ida Paulin in the Schaezlerpalais Augsburg – Bavaria

Strictly speaking, Ida Paulin is a real new discovery. Who knows the Augsburg-born glass artist (1880-1955) who made such incredibly delicate cans and vases, captivating not only because of their unusual shapes, but also because of their striking colors? So far there have only been a few collectors at most, says Christof Trepesch, head of the Augsburg art collections. Together with co-curator Sarah Klein, he worked for three years on the glass artist’s first major exhibition. They selected 560 pieces from more than 1,000 objects and created an opulent exhibition in the Schaezlerpalais that shows the artist’s entire range.
