At the end of December you look back simply because it is the end of December. At Christmas a year ago, people were talking about the then new federal government, which was constituted on December 8th. (Yes, that was really only a year ago.) It was supported by a coalition that could not have been anything else and consequently elected the other-we-have-not-other chancellor. There was no pathos, just a little pride and, of course, selfies. Otherwise, the pedagogical, but warm-hearted atmosphere of the youth books by the writer Robert Habeck, who became a minister, initially prevailed with the newcomers. One of the books he wrote together with his wife Andrea Paluch is called “Little Heroes, Big Adventures”. A good motto for the traffic light.
