Too many exceptions that could deceive consumers: The FSC seal for wood products is not as good as it seems. It urgently needs reform.
It sticks to toys, furniture and school notebooks. Even clothespins and clothes hangers are ennobled with it. The FSC environmental seal with the outline of a tree can be found in almost every household. Anyone who buys products with the label gets the good feeling of having made the world a little better. And you might even be willing to pay a little more for it. Finally, the seal of the Forest Stewardship Council, an international non-profit organization based in Germany, stands for wood from forests that are managed according to ecological criteria and in which workers are paid and treated appropriately.
