The Forum Humor is starting its “Humor Festival” in and around Munich – Bavaria

The start of this year’s “Humor Festival”. Association forum for humor and comic art on April 8th is already sold out. No wonder, since club initiator Gerhard Polt on the topic of “Humor and Democracy” is a guest in Reinhard G. Wittmann’s series of talks at the Salon Luitpold.

But with some distance things continue in Munich, at Starnberger and at Ammersee. The series of discussions in Café Luitpold continues with Nockherberg repentance speaker Maxi Schafroth (logically about the effect of humorous speech on politicians, May 14th). Finally, Bruno Jonas and Ursula Münch, the director of the Academy for Political Education in Tutzing, shed light on the limits of freedom of expression and freedom of art, moderated by BR journalist Anna-Elena Knerich (June 11).

The humor festival in Stegen starts on May 11th with the inauguration of the “humor course” with 28 cartoons on the theme “summer, sun, sunburn” on the beach and lakeside path. The events take place in Groundlift Studio in the Old Brewery: Peter Gaymann, accompanied by Josef Brustmann on the zither, draws live (May 11th); After a poetry slam with eight Bavarian slammers (June 27th), Gisela Schneeberger (June 13th), Jan Weiler (October 10th) and Gerhard Polt (October 17th) read there. The Munich illustrator and children’s book author Susanne Straßer (6.6.) and the SZ editor, joke book author and consultant (and father of seven) Georg Cadeggianini (1.7.) have something funny for children with them.

A humor course with the same title with 25 cartoons will also be available in Bernried from June 28th from the steamer jetty along the lake to the park of the Buchheim Museum – where ten artists will be putting their works in the mood for the exhibition “Karl Valentin and Music”, which is being organized by can be seen on August 31st. Finally, from July 16th, you can complete a third humor course around Blutenburg Castle. The focus here is on comedy for children and young people, as the images come from the collection of the International Youth Library (IJB) located here.

In autumn the activities focus on Munich. In addition to an exhibition of cartoons and comics in the pop-up gallery in Kunstlabor 2, events are planned in museums and elsewhere. All details and information will be announced in good time and will then be available on the Homepage of the humor forum to find.
