Four months after the announcement of the end of the Formula 1 Grand Prix de France, the dissolution of the public interest group which managed it on the Côte d’Azur is debated, because it leaves a substantial deficit. “There is a slate which is 27 million euros to be shared”, explained to AFP the president of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, Renaud Muselier, one of the main contributors to this public interest group (GIP) which organized this Formula 1 race.
These 27 million consist of a “liability” of 16 million euros, which the structure must reimburse to its suppliers, and an advance from the region of 11 million euros, indicated another source, member of the GIP, confirming information from the regional daily Nice morning.
Supplier regulations
Each of the public actors (the region, the Toulon-Provence-Mediterranean and Nice Côte d’Azur metropolises, the Var department, the chambers of commerce and industry of the Var and the region, and the Sud Sainte -Baume) as well as the Paul-Ricard circuit, at Le Castellet (Var), will have to put their hands in the wallet to pay the slate up to their participation in the GIP.
The regional council should vote Friday afternoon in permanent committee a new advance of 5.8 million euros to participate in the payment of suppliers.
