“The Diary of Anne Frank”: Banned from the Library – Culture

From

After Art Spiegelman’s world-famous Holocaust comic “Mouse” was removed from the school district of McMinn County in the US state of Tennessee as school reading for the eighth grade last year, another graphic novel on this topic is now being targeted by alleged child protectors. A high school on the Atlantic coast of Florida has removed a graphic novel based on Anne Frank’s diary from its library. The Israeli director and screenwriter Ari Folman wrote the award-winning comic version together with the artist David Polonsky as a combination of original text and fictional dialogues. Under the title “The Diary of Anne Frank” it was published in Germany.
